BREED NOTES FOR CIRNECO DELL'ETNA
We had a lovely weekend when our friends Inka Luomanmäki and Jaako came to visit. Inka has a vast knowledge of the breed as she is not only a fabulous photographer but also a very well travelled lady.
She was really impressed with Lucky and Bridie's puppies so now Lucky will be 'very lucky' and produce some litters in Finland with various kennels.
It was an honour to be asked earlier this year to write about my dogs and plans that I have, in the Finnish Cirneco and Italian Greyhound magazine, Kiitajat which came to print in March.
On Sunday I was judging at the Hunting Dogs of Ancient Egypt show in the wonderful hot sunshine.
Someone asked if there were any Cirnechi there of which the answer is no. Having said that we are in talks with the club about joining in and having a fun match. The show is not just about Egypt but about hunting dogs that have a relationship with each other, Ibizan, Sloughi, Pharaoh and Basenji. In a small numeric breed a club sometimes has to invite other breeds to make the whole thing viable especially when times are hard with finance in this Country.
Other wonderful news is that Anharbn Bluebayou of Allanbru owned by Cathy Allan was Best Import Register at the Hound Association of Scotland under judge Dianne Spavin. Many congrats Cathy, Alan & Nutmeg.
